From Leaking Glass to Lasting Light: A Complete Skylight Transformation
Solution: Our plan involved removing six oversized skylights and rebuilding the framing to accommodate twelve smaller VELUX skylights. Because of the original dimensions, stock VELUX products would not have been a fit, but by rethinking the layout, we were able to use the VELUX combi flashing system. This system allowed us to guarantee a watertight installation while giving the homeowner the benefit of VELUX’s industry-leading warranties. Once the new skylights were in place, we completed the project with all-new sheetrock, corner bead, compound, sanding, and paint. The result is a beautiful, worry-free upgrade that enhances both the interior comfort and long-term efficiency of the home.
Challenge: This homeowner reached out to us after years of dealing with a leaking glass structure that had caused significant damage to the interior sheetrock and original framing.
